Fragments of the City
My work begins by collecting fragments the city has cast off.
Furniture, electronics, everyday objects—things that once shared time with someone.
I dismantle these pieces, discarded by necessity, and reassemble them into new beings. Art becomes their new function, a way to prove their existence—though that proof is never permanent.
They may be discarded again, or they may endure for a long time.
나의 작업은 도시가 배출한 파편을 수집하는 것에서 시작된다.
가구와 전자제품, 생활용품들—한때 누군가와 시간을 공유하던 사물들이다.
나는 필요에 의해 버려진 조각들을 분해하고 재조합해 새로운 존재로 세운다.
예술이라는 쓸모로 존재를 증명하지만, 그 증명은 영원하지 않다.
다시 버려질 수도, 오래도록 남을 수도 있다.
Forms Close to Life
Robots are the most life-like forms an object can take—precise, familiar, and unsettling.
I dress them in bright surfaces, then let the scars of discarded materials remain visible up close.
Between attraction and unease, the work asks what kind of “life” we are building after nature.
로봇은 무생물이 취할 수 있는 가장 생명에 가까운 형태라고 믿는다.
멀리선 밝고 친근해 보이지만, 가까이선 버려진 재료의 흔적과 봉합이 드러난다.
끌림과 불안 사이에서, ‘자연 이후의 생명’이 무엇인지 묻는다.
